A man who was in a rush to get to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in time for his girlfriend to deliver their baby was involved in a minor accident, according to Salisbury Township Police Department.
The Aug. 18 accident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. when the man, who was driving south on Cedar Crest Boulevard, missed his turn and made a U-turn at Fish Hatchery Road, police said. His car struck another vehicle on the passenger side that was driving south on Cedar Crest Boulevard, causing scuff marks and the mirror to break off, police said. His car sustained minor damage to the driver's side.
No one was injured and the couple made it to the hospital in time, police said. An officer later went to LVH's labor and delivery unit to finish his report.
No word on whether it was a boy or girl.
