Has anyone ever said you have a dour demeanor? Are you the type of person who prefers to smile on the inside?..

If so, you should consider entering the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market's upcoming "American Gothic" look-a-like contest on Oct. 28.

The contest is based upon the famous 1930 painting by American artist Grant Wood, in which a farmer and his daughter stand in front of their Carpenter Gothic home in Eldon, Iowa.

The contest is free to enter and pre-registration is not required.

Judging will take place at 11:30am and prizes will be awarded.

The Saucon Valley Farmers' Market is held Sundays from 9am to 1pm in Hellertown's Water Street Park. This year's market will be open through Nov. 28.
