Mosquito Spraying Tonight on Emmaus Ave. and Franko Farm Park

The Lehigh County West Nile virus spray eradication program will begin at dusk tonight in parts of Salisbury Township.

The Lehigh County West Nile Program will begin spraying mosquitoes at dusk tonight along Emmaus Avenue, Franko Farm Recreation Area and the Franko Drop-Off Center, according to Salisbury Township.

The operation is to reduce high populations of mosquitoes that have tested positive for West Nile virus in Lehigh County. A mosquito in Salisbury tested positive for West Nile virus last month and a Lehigh County man recently became the seventh person in Pennsylvania to be sickened by the virus.

Lehigh County will spray mosquitoes on Tuesday, Aug. 21 in Allentown, West Bethlehem and Salisbury Township and Wednesday, Aug. 22 in Allentown, Catasauqua and Hanover Township.
