Salisbury High School Honors Two Merit Scholars

Salisbury High School senior Alan Mendez (center) was awarded a certificate of achievement by Superintendent Michael Roth and Principal Heather Morningstar  for being named a National Merit Commended Student and a National Hispanic Recognized Program Scholar.

Salisbury High School seniors Casey Creveling and Alan Mendez were recognized by the school board Wednesday for being named National Merit Commended Students.

Mendez was also honored for being name a National Hispanic Recognized Program Scholar.

Of the 1.5 million students who took the SAT, only 34,000 scored high enough to qualify as National Merit Commended Students, according to Superintendent Michael Roth.
