Salisbury Township Police with the assistance of officers from neighboring police departments arrested 13 motorists with driving under the influence during a DUI checkpoint set up Aug. 10-11 in the 1600 block of Broadway in Salisbury, according to Officer Bryan Losagio.

• 652 vehicle/driver contacts were made.
• 13 DUI arrests.
• Multiple vehicles were impounded
• Nine citations were issued.

The checkpoint, sponsored by the Lehigh County DUI Task Force, began at 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 and ran until the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 11.

Future checkpoints in Salisbury Township are being considered.
