Salisbury Police Seek Volunteers for Block Watches

Salisbury Police want to gauge public's interest in forming community block watches.

The Salisbury Township Police Department is looking for volunteers to form neighborhood watch groups in the eastern and western sides of the township.

"Salisbury had them in the past and we'd like to start them again in light of quality of life issues," said Officer Kevin Kress. He was referring to a series of car break-ins in some neighborhoods.

"We're trying to gauge interest and if enough people are interested, we'll schedule some informational meetings," he said.

If you are interested in joining a block watch in Salisbury, please call Kress at the police department at 610-797-1447, ext. 5875, and leave your name and phone number.

Though never living in Twsp, I'm one of the earliest Western Salisbury firefighters (New Chief Durner, and met Chief Stiles), & live near & pass through twsp. often. Still feeling like one a guadians of the western end, I'd be happy to register.
