Sandra Thomas Appointed to Salisbury Environmental Advisory Council
Sandra Thomas fills a vacancy on the Environmental Advisory Council after Bruce Burchard resigns.
Bruce Burchard, a member of Salisbury Township’s Environmental Advisory Council, has resigned, citing other commitments.
Township commissioners accepted Burchard’s resignation “with regret” at their Nov. 15 board meeting and moved to appoint Sandra Thomas, also a resident of the township’s First Ward, to fill the vacancy.
The term expires in 2013.
Thomas had served on the advisory council as a special task force volunteer.
The township’s Environmental Advisory Council is an extension of township staff to research environmental issues and advise the township manager and commissioners. Recent accomplishments include publication of a township Natural Resource Inventory, and consideration for the township’s application to the Audubon Society for the status of Bird Town USA.
The council meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the township building; however, this week’s meeting on Nov. 21, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, has been canceled.
