A fatal motor vehicle accident occurred late Friday on Route 309 in Lower Macungie Township according to emergency scanner transmissions.
The accident was reported around 11 p.m. as an overturned vehicle with an unresponsive victim trapped underneath.
State Police arrived and reported the victim was potentially deceased.
The accident occurred on SB Rt. 309 under I-78 in the vicinity of where Lower Macungie, South Whitehall, Upper Macungie and Salisbury township come together.
Southbound Route 309 was closed, and traffic was diverted at Tilghman Street.
The accident was initially reported as being located on I-78 at Hamilton Boulevard in South Whitehall Township.
