The following information was provided by the Pennsylvania State Police.

An Alburtis man was injured in an accident involving two cars early Monday on Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville.

The crash occurred at about 2:50 a.m. when Victor S. Torres Texidor, 32, of Allentown, who was driving eastbound at about 65 mph in the middle lane near mile marker 55.3, changed lanes without clearance into the right lane, police said. Torres Texidor's car crashed into the front end of a car driven by Nevin D. Beson, 34, of Alburtis, who was traveling at about 55 mph in the right lane, police said.

Beson's car, which had an empty trailer attached to it, traveled about 105 feet across the I-78 eastbound off-ramp to Cedar Crest Boulevard southbound, and struck a concrete barrier on the shoulder, police said. Beson's attached trailer jackknifed, causing extensive damage to the rear of his car before it became detached and traveled about 75 feet and came to a stop in the grassy area between I-78 and Cedar Crest southbound off-ramp.
