Hungry? New Hibachi Grill Has 250 Items on 11 Buffets

Hibachi Grill supreme buffet is now open on Grape Street in Whitehall.

Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet has opened at 1053 Grape Street near the Whitehall Mall. The restaurant features 11 buffets with more than 250 items including Japanese, Chinese and American food with hibachi-style grilling. Specialty items include hibachi chicken, beef tenderloin and Italian shrimp. Kid-friendly options include pizza. There's a dessert bar with fresh fruit, pastries and cookies, along with an ice cream bar. The restaurant includes a large private room for special occasions. 'Protectionist' Funeral Home Rules Struck Down by Judge

A federal judge struck down 11 state regulations on funeral homes in Pennsylvania.

By Eric Boehm | PA Independent HARRISBURG—After a four-year court battle, wide swaths of state regulations for funeral homes were swept aside last year by a federal judge who ruled them anti-competitive and protectionist. In a May 2012 ruling, Judge John E. Jones struck down 11 provisions of Pennsylvania’s Funeral Director Law as unconstitutional, including a requirement that funeral homes build expensive and often unnecessary preparation rooms, a prohibition serving food inside a funeral home and several regulations concerning the ownership, operation and names of funeral homes. South Mall Liquor Store Reopens After Renovation

The Wine and Spirits shop at South Mall underwent a renovation and is now brighter and airier.

A brighter, airier Wine and Spirits store at South Mall has reopened after undergoing an extensive renovation. The store's update includes blue and orange walls, modern ceiling lights and wider aisles with new signs, said Annette Lopez, manager. "Oh, this looks great," exclaimed a customer from Emmaus as she stepped inside for the first time since the renovation began two months ago. A third cash register was added, the office was moved to the center of the floor and the refrigerators were moved to the back.

100s of Open Houses in Lehigh Valley This Weekend

Realtors are holding Nationwide Open House this weekend and hundreds of homes will be open for tours in the Lehigh Valley.

The Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors (LVAR) will participte in Nationwide Open House on Saturday and Sunday with hundreds of real estate open houses scheduled across the Valley. Visit LVAR's website and click on "Find a Home" or "Open Houses." You can search by county, school district or local area. LVAR CEO Ryan Conrad says affordablity of homes in the Lehigh Valley is high with most of the homes sold in March going for less than $150,000.

PBS39 On-Air Host, Station Manager Leaving

Amy Burkett, a Lehigh Valley television fixture since 1999, is named new station manager at Charlotte, N.C., PBS station.

TV host Amy Burkett, well-known to those who are fans of Lehigh Valley PBS/WLVT, is leaving for Charlotte, N.C., the Bethlehem-based station has announced. Burkett has been named the general manager of WTVI, Charlotte’s PBS station. Burkett will also be the director of Digital Media Studies at Central Piedmont Community College, which holds the station's license. Burkett has been WLVT-TV, PBS39's station manager since 2011. She had just become the station's executive vice president this year. She joined in 1999 to create and host its weekly news magazine show Tempo. During her tenure, Burkett and her team received four national public television awards, eight Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Awards, 28 regional Emmy nominations, …

Celebrate the Lehigh Valley Zoo's season opening Saturday with the new North American Trail exhibit and a day of fun activities.

Dutch Springs Opens Saturday to Scuba Divers

Dutch Springs in Lower Nazareth Township will open for the 2013 season on Saturday, but only to scuba divers.

Dutch Springs in Lower Nazareth Township will open for the 2013 season on Saturday, but only to scuba divers. Those looking forward to the AquaPark and Sky Challenge will have to wait for Memorial Day weekend. According to www.dutchsprings.com, the park will be open for scuba diving every Saturday and Sunday in April from 8 a.m to 6 p.m. Click here for the full 2013 schedule. Dutch Springs has been known for years to scuba enthusiasts as a prime diving spot. The 50-acre lake was once a limestone quarry for the former National Portland Cement plant.
