Allentown's Liberty Bell Shrine, 620 W. Hamilton St., will host a Jubilee Celebration from 1:30 to 3pm on July 4, 2012.
As part of the celebration, Dave Fry, founder of Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem, will premiere his "Ballad of the Liberty Bell." The song was commissioned by the Liberty Bell Shrine and is to be included on Fry's newest CD release.
Historian Frank Whelan, guest Museum curator for the current 50th anniversary of the Shrine exhibit, will share stories about the founding of the shrine. Pip the Mouse will also be present, and Verna Fisher will instruct children in creating a Colonial craft.
Allentown's Liberty Bell and the replica Liberty Bell will be rung as part of the national Bell Ringing Ceremony. There will be light refreshments.
Reservations are required. There is a small suggested donation: adults $3; children $1.
