Why go: This lighthearted comedy is a perfect way to brighten your weekend. Add dinner, and you’re ahead of the game.

2. Late Nite Catechism

 

Speaking of funny Catholics, catch this hilarious crowd favorite while you can, Thursday, March 24, and Friday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 26, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday, March 27, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the State Theatre, 453 Northampton St., Easton. http://www.statetheatre.org/

Why go: This show, part play, part stand-up, in which a nun teaches a roomful of “students” (that’s you) the ways of Catholicism will have you rolling in the aisles.

3.  DeSales University 11th Annual Film Festival

Enjoy a 90-minute screening of new works written, directed and producers by DeSales students. Two showings: Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, at 8 p.m., on the main stage of the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts, 2755 Station Ave., Bethlehem.

Why go: Who knows? You may meet the next Steven Spielberg.

 4. Enter Demeter

 Marvel at this celebration of women through dance at the Samuels Theatre, Cedar Crest College, 100 College Drive, Allentown, Friday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m.

Why go: Dancers are artists, too. Support them. This piece, choreographed by San Franciscan Alyce Finwall, takes nine women through a journey of  life in an homage to the Goddess of the Harvest.

Cost: Free

 5. Lehigh University Glee, Choir and Dolce concert

Are you a Gleek? Catch these real live Glee-ers in action at the Zoellner Arts Center, 2755 Station Road, Bethlehem. Show begins Saturday, March 26, at 8 p.m.

Why go: The singers will perform everything from French Renaissance to Cole Porter. Grab dinner before hand at one of the South Side’s delicious eateries, and make a night of it.
