Fourth of July Holiday, Fireworks Top Week Ahead

Salisbury Township offices are closed Thursday for the Fourth of July holiday, but re-open again Friday.

It's a holiday-shortened week for some people with four-day weekends, barbecues and fireworks on many minds.

The Fourth of July is Thursday. Salisbury Township offices are closed on Thursday, but are open for business again on Friday.

The Salisbury Township Zoning Hearing Board meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, has been canceled. 

Fireworks displays are on many people's mind on the Fourth of July. The City of Bethlehem will have a fireworks show on Thursday. 

Allentown's Fourth of July Festival will incorporate food and drink, music and activities for all ages directly outside J. Birney Crum Stadium on Linden Street in Allentown. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 4th, capped by a fireworks show.

Dorney Park in South Whitehall will display its annual fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

The 2013 Summer Playground Program continues this week at Green Acres Park, Lindberg Park, Devonshire Park and Laubach Park. Township children who have completed kindergarten through age 12 are eligible to participate. Program hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
