Get Out: Five Things to Do This Holiday Weekend

July 4th doesn't just have to be about grilling.

1. Bethlehem’s Restaurant Week

Where/When: Take advantage of Bethlehem’s biannual restaurant week, going on now through July 2 throughout the city at participating locations.

Why go: When else can you get a three-course meal for $30 per person at Edge or Emeril’s Chop House or the new Tapas on Main? Not often enough.

2. “The Comedy of Errors”

Where/When: Now through July 10th, laugh along to one of Shakespeare’s most popular pieces at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, 2755 Station Ave., Center Valley.

Why go: No one does Shakespeare like the festival.

3. Fight Night at the Sands

Where/When: Head to the Sands, 77 Sands Boulevard, Bethlehem, for the casino’s first ever fight night, featuring Ronald Cruz and Doel Carrasquillo, kicking off at 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 1.

Why go: Live boxing in Bethlehem? What? (Oh, and don’t worry. The tent, where the fight will be held is air conditioned.)

4. Texas Hold ‘em

Where/When: Put on your poker face for this Texas Hold ‘em tournament, presented by River Chasers, on Monday, July 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the Brew Works on the Green, 3400 W. Tilghman Street, Allentown.

Why go: Poker + $3 lager = A happy fourth.

5. Independence Day Concert

Where/When: Get your independence with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra on Monday, July 4, at 8 p.m., at the SteelStacks Arts Center, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.

Why go: Fireworks will follow the show.
