Special Weather Statement Issued for Lehigh, Northampton Counties
Snow and sleet are likely in the region.
A special weather statement has been issued by the National Weather Service for Lehigh and Northampton counties.
Friday's rain will turn to snow and sleet as a cold front moves in, the National Weather Service said. Accumulation of up to an inch is possible.
By Saturday, there will likely be a lot of ice on roadways, the government agency said.
"If you are traveling ... please be on the alert for possibly slippery traveling conditions," the National Weather Service said in a statement. "Give yourself extra braking distance."
A special weather statement is one of the classifications of severity of weather warning.
