Weather Service Issues Fire Warning

Conditions are right today for uncontrolled fires to spread quickly, according to National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Red Flag Warning” for eastern Pennsylvania and most of New Jersey. The warning means conditions are perfect for uncontrolled fires to spread.

The meteorological condition -- strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures -- can “create explosive fire growth potential.”

Temperatures are expected to reach above 60 degrees this afternoon, and winds are expected to come in from the southwest at 10 to 15 mph -- with gusts up to 25 mph.
