Abraham Lincoln Exhibit Opens at Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum

Learn about our 16th president through 'Abraham Lincoln's Journey to Greatness' at the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum.

"Abraham Lincoln's Journey to Greatness” will open Saturday at the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut Street, Allentown. The exhibit will run through fall 2013.

The opening day program will feature "Lincoln in Films" at 1 p.m.

Visitors will be able to:

  • Meet the great-great granddaughter of stage actress Laura Keene, who starred at Ford's Theatre the night Abraham Lincoln was assassinated.
  • Explore the fascinating life of our nation’s sixteenth President.
  • Discover more than 500 objects on display, including artifacts from the Lincoln era.
  • Enjoy a special program exploring how Lincoln has been portrayed in films from the early days to the most recent Stephen Spielberg blockbuster.
  • Experience crafts and hands-on activities offering fun for all ages.  

The exhibit and accompanying programs are made possible in part with the support of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Foundation, dedicated to perpetuating and expanding Lincoln’s vision for America and completing America’s unfinished work, and by a grant from the Charles H. Hoch Foundation.
