Dr. Rick Boulay Wins LVMA For Best Classical Solo

Dr. Rick Boulay, an LVH oncologist and Salisbury Township resident, won the LVMA's award for Best Classical Solo Performance and a song dedicated to Adam Recke won Best Original Song.

, a Salisbury Township resident and oncologist at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, won the award for Best Classical Solo Performance Sunday night at the 13th annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards. Boulay's CD, "Peace: A Musical Journey," was released this year, his third in a series about the journey with cancer.

Country rocker ," about , a Salisbury Middle School teacher's son who suffers from a rare incurable disease, won Best Original Song. Marshall sang the song at the awards ceremony held at Musikfest Cafe in the ArtsQuest Center in Bethelehem, according to The Morning Call. Recke, 12, attended the event.

Marshall swept the awards by winning five, including Entertainer of the Year, Best Lyricist and the fan ballot's Best Singer/Songwriter.
