Independent Filmmaker From Salisbury Raising Funds for New Project

William Cusick, originally of Salisbury Township, is producing his debut narrative feature film "Pop Meets the Void."

Award-winning independent filmmaker William Cusick, originally from Salisbury Township, is producing his debut narrative feature film "Pop Meets the Void," a comedy that follows an aspiring musician as he struggles to finish his first album after 15 years of toil.

The filmmakers are currently trying to raising $35,000 on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter to produce the film this winter in New York City and in Cusick’s hometown.

"Pop Meets the Void," is inspired by the collapse of the music industry and the rebirth of the musician industry in the age of the Internet. The soundtrack to the film is comprised of original songs by writer/director William Cusick.

Told through a series of parallel narratives that explore varying levels of success, the film touches on the complex nature of creating in obscurity for an unknown audience and the paradoxes of failure. The film's narratives overlap, crisscross, intertwine and never end in this surrealist comedy.
