Salisbury School Board Holds First Meeting of New Year Wednesday

School directors will hear from student representatives, recognize retiring workers and approve budgetary and personnel line items.

The Salisbury School Board will hold its first meeting of the new school year Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the administration building, located at 1140 Salisbury Road in Allentown.

The board will hear the first student representative reports of the year from students Ian Carey, Luke Chassard, Samantha Heiserman and Hannah Kahn. The students report highlights of recent school and extra-curricular activities to school directors.

School directors will recognize Betty J. Klein, a cafeteria worker who is retiring after 41 years of service at the Harry S. Truman School and Carol Grejda, a Harry S. Truman school secretary who is leaving the district after 20 years of service.

School directors are expected to approve total expenditures for the period spanning Aug. 19 through Sept. 20 of just more than $2.6 million.

Directors are also expected to approve personnel moves and new employees into the district.
