Swain School Welcomes 10 New Staffers

The Swain School is Salisbury Township welcomes 10 new staff members to its ranks as school opens Wednesday.

Ten new staff members helped welcome students Thursday morning when the doors opened for students for a new school year at the Swain School in Salisbury Township Thursday morning.

Jessica Brans of Allentown is the new lead teacher for Preschool. She has her B.S. degree from Kutztown University, and a masters in Strategies in Elementary Education from Wilkes University. She brings 13 years teaching experience to her new position.

Jennifer Shingles, RN, of Hellertown will be running the Health Office. She has a B.S. from Hood College, and 13 years experience in urgent care settings.

Stacey Pugh, Easton, will be teaching third grade. A graduate of Elizabethtown College, she has 12 years of elementary and middle school experience.

Joleen Hanlund is a new Kindergarten teacher. She recently relocated to Bethlehem from New York, where she received her masters in Childhood Education from the City College of New York. She has several years of teaching experience, most recently at The Blue School in New York City.

Rithika Sesh of Allentown will be working as a Kindergarten collaborative teacher. She holds a BA from Kutztown University and her masters in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University; she has three years teaching experience.

Batool Viqar of Emmaus has been hired as a Preschool assistant teacher. She holds bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Karachi in Pakistan, and has over 15 years of teaching experience.

Kaitlin Long, Schnecksville, is another new Kindergarten collaborative eacher. She recently graduated from the University of Scranton with a focus on early/primary teacher training.

Bradley Hirsh recently relocated to Allentown from Maryland, where he completed 11 years of teaching. His responsibilities include middle school history and English, and he is assuming a new role at Swain, Outdoor Education Coordinator. He is a graduate of Bard College.

Caitlin Worrich of Bethlehem has two new roles, Band Director and Extended Care Coordinator. She has her degree in Music Education from Moravian College, and performs in a number of local musical ensembles.

Tammi Lake of Pottstown joins the Swain administrative team as Director of Development. She received her BS from Pennsylvania State University and her MBA from Boston University Graduate School of Management. She most recently worked at Lafayette College, and has experience at The Hill School in Pottstown as well.
