Air Products Moving 125 Employees to Allentown

The move is expected to take place when the 2 City Center office building in downtown Allentown is completed in 2014.

Trexlertown-based Air Products announced Thursday that it is moving approximately 125 employees of its liquefied natural gas commercial and engineering teams to the new 2 City Center office building, currently under construction in downtown Allentown.

The move is expected to take place when the 2 City Center location is completed in 2014.

Approximately 125 Air Products employees make up the LNG commercial and engineering teams who are responsible for the design and sale of coil wound heat exchangers for LNG projects around the globe.

“Air Products has been a long-time supporter of the City of Allentown, and we feel locating these teams at this new development is a meaningful contribution and visible commitment to the revitalization of the city,” said John Stanley, Air Products’ senior vice president, general counsel and chief administrative officer.

“Air Products is the global leader in LNG technology, and our LNG teams will be great ambassadors for Air Products. In addition, this new office will be a showcase site for our company where we can welcome and entertain customers, job candidates, colleagues and friends of Air Products who are visiting the area.”

Besides its commitment to 2 City Center, Air Products is also a founding partner of the new hockey arena, and the Air Products Foundation will be the presenting sponsor of the Phantoms Charities, a new not-for-profit that will focus on giving back to the Lehigh Valley community.

Phantoms Charities will provide a mechanism for the hockey team and players to positively impact youth and youth programs in our region.

Air Products will maintain its headquarters on Hamilton Boulevard in Trexlertown. About 3,600 employees work at that location.
