Jane's Addiction Offers Free Show to Musikfest Fans

Singer Perry Farrell tweets that those with ticket stubs to rain-shortened Musikfest performance can see the band for free at Mann Music Center on Wednesday night.

Jane’s Addiction, with the help of a concert promoter, are inviting fans who were at the storm-shortened Musikfest show in Bethlehem last week to see them for free on Wednesday night at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia.

“In the crowd when Jane's rained out? Come to Philly and see us for free. Philly promoter is honoring Bethlehem ticket stubs! (just because),” says a Tweet sent from the band’s singer, Perry Farrell, this afternoon.

Musikfest officials cut the concert short after 33 minutes when an electrical storm hit the city at a little after 9:30 p.m. . No refund was given to the 3,077 fans who paid $49 and $34 for tickets at the Sands Steel Stage.

According to a Morning Call Festblog post, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro blasted ArtsQuest in a Twitter post to fans on Monday, saying, “They f----- you and they f----- us. We are in this together.”

Apparently angered that the band was blamed for the shortened show, Navarro promised to come up with a solution “to make you all whole”

ArtsQuest President Jeff Parks told the newspaper that the band made the decision to pull the plug on the show and that it was paid for its appearance.

The blog said also said; “Musikfest has cited its weather policy, which says, “A performance that has begun, but is shortened due to severe weather conditions, is not cause for a full or partial refund.”

ArtsQuest also shut down the other venues at the festival an hour-and-a-half early for safety reasons.

Upon seeing Farrell’s Tweet about the free concert offer for those holding Musikfest concert stubs, one fan tweeted back: “No effing way.”

Farrell responded: “Please get the word out to Bethlehem- the party is on.”
