New Fashion 'Destination' Opens at Promenade Shops

Republic of Couture has opened at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley in Upper Saucon Township. The new men's and women's clothing store merges fashion with interactivity and entertainment.

A women's and men's clothing store that represents a "new concept merging fashion, entertainment and interactivity" has opened at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley in Upper Saucon Township, according to a news release.

The new Republic of Couture fashion store at The Promenade Shops offers clothing in an "experiential destination" that features "a running stream and polished river stones underfoot," the release noted.

Founded by Gaston Garcia, the ROC store "has theatrical lighting, multiple screens, monitors in place of mirrors, a DJ booth, themed fitting rooms and fish tanks that act as countertops in the organic café available in certain locations," according to the release.

According to ROC, about 80 percent of the clothing it sells is available for around $35, however a designer area features items with prices of up to $300.

In addition to clothing, shoes, small accessories, handbags, jewelry, sunglasses, watches and home accessories are sold at Republic of Couture, which also offers an unusual interactive program to help customers save on their purchases as they shop.

Customers who like Republic of Couture on Facebook can save 10 percent "automatically," and by letting a member of the ROC team take their photo and post it to the ROC Facebook page they can save even more, the release said.

"While you shop, post to your friends that every 'like' your photo receives results in an additional one percent discount before you check out," it explained.
