Burned Body Case, Possible Library Tax Repeal Top Salisbury Township News

Stolen statues recovered and help for keeping the lights on also made headlines.

Two Berks County brothers are charged with kidnapping, torturing and killing 26-year-old Jennifer Velez-Negron, whose burned body was found dumped in Salisbury Township two days after Christmas. The brothers also are charged with killing an Easton grad and another man in Reading on Dec 4. Velez-Negron's torture was recorded on a cellphone, according to court records.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with receiving two I-beam statues stolen April 2 from a home in the 700 block of Weil Street in Salisbury Township, police said.
