Here are a DIY-project, a poetry reading, back-to-back crafting opportunities and a birthday bash: 

1. Calling all budding builders.

Where/When: Participating Lowe’s stores nationwide, Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m.
Why Go: Saturday’s project, a sports pinball machine just looks cool. If you don’t manage to get a slot this week, sign up for the April 23 kids’ construction workshop, during which participants will be creating a “window birdhouse.” To register, visithttps://www.lowesbuildandgrow.com/
Pricing: FREE, unless there’s "just one thing" you need to for a project in your home. Then it runs about 50 bucks.

2. Here’s a chance for your little one to show off how crafty he/she is.

Where/When: Participating Michaels stores. There are stores in Whitehall, Quakertown and Easton. Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why Go: Here’s your chance to try out a new product - the Crayola® Neon Explosion™ - without making a financial investment. Described as five times brighter than regular markers on construction paper, the Neon Explosion is at least worth a look-see. Appropriate for ages 3 and up.
Pricing: FREE, while supplies last.

3. Because April is National Poetry Month.

Where/When: , Saturday, April 9, 10:30 a.m.
Why Go: Children from kindergarten through grade 5 will read some verse and then take a shot at writing their own humorous poems, in honor of National Poetry Month.
Pricing: FREE, advanced registration is required.

4. You’re Invited…

Where/When: America on Wheels Museum, 5 North Front Street, Allentown, Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Ice cream, art and puppies are on the agenda for the museum’s third birthday celebration.
Pricing: Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and students ages 13 to 16. Children 12 and under will be admitted FREE for this special celebration.

5. Getting crafty, the sequel.

Where/When: Participating Michaels stores, Sunday, April 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Visit theMichael’s Web site to get specific store details.
Why Go: Decorate an Easter pail in preparation for the upcoming holiday. The fancy bucket could also make a great catch-all to collect all the teeny, tiny stuff that teeny, tiny people seem to accumulate.
Pricing: FREE, while supplies last. Appropriate for ages 3 and up.
