 2. “Fifth of July”

 Where/When: Travel back to the post-Vietnam years with paraplegic war vet Kenneth Talley and his family in Lanford Wilson’s poignant and funny play, “Fifth of July,” playing at the Civic Theatre, 527 N. 19th St., Allentown, Thursday through Saturday, March 3-5 at 8 p.m.http://www.civictheatre.com

 Why go: Nothing beats a night of live theatre, and Civic’s production is being hailed by reviewers as “charming” and “compassionate.”

 3. “Book of Love”

 Where/When: Catch the closing weekend of “The Book of Love,” a musical comedy about the search for the perfect mate at the Pines Dinner Theatre, 448 N. 17th St., Allentown, Friday and Saturday, March 4-5, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 6, at 2 p.m. https://www.pinesdinnertheatre.com/index.html

 Why go: Dinner and a show, all in one. What more do you need? Bring your own bottle of wine and make it a perfect date night.

 4. Luna Negra Dance Theatre

Where/When: Marvel at the Chicago dance company’s thrilling show at Zoellner’s Baker Hall,420 East Packer Avenue, Bethlehem, Friday, March 4 at 8 p.m. http://www.zoellnerartscenter.org/

 Why go: Between the company’s Latin/Afro-Caribbean moves and the live orchestra, there’s enough energy and fire to make for one helluva night (husbands, be warned, your wives may want to take dance classes after this performance).

 5. Amish Outlaws

 Where/When: Rock out with these Lancaster outcasts at the Molten Lounge at the Sands Casino, 77 Sands Blvd., Bethlehem, Sunday, March 6 at 8 p.m. http://www.theamishoutlaws.com/

Why go: This Amish cover bands knows how to rile up a crowd, and there’s nothing like a little live music to beat out the winter doldrums. And while you’re there, who knows? Maybe you can win enough to buy your friends (and the band) a round.
