An Allentown couple and LVH-Cedar Crest have settled a lawsuit for $1.5 million, according to The Morning Call.

An Allentown couple who sued for the death of their newborn have settled for $1.5 million, according to The Morning Call.

Wanda and Eugene Nagy's lawsuit, which was filed in 2009, said Dr. Guillermo Antonio De La Vega applied a vacuum suction cup to their daughter Mackenzie's head during delivery, causing brain bleeding, the Call said. "The lawsuit claimed hospital staff failed to recognize the symptoms fast enough over a 12-hour period, leading to the baby's death," the article said.

"The suit says the baby was transported to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia the day after the birth and had procedures done there, but died at the hospital on May 18, 2008," the article said.
