Ex-Salisbury Woman Killed in Florida Hit-and-Run

A teacher from Salisbury Township was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Loxahatchee, Fla.

Police in Florida are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed Paula Vinsky, a Salisbury High School graduate who was teaching in the Palm Beach County School District.

Vinsky died at the scene after being hit from behind in Loxahatchee last Wednesday around 9 p.m., according to the Palm Beach Post.

Police are looking for a blue sport utility vehicle—possibly a Jeep Liberty—with front-end damage, according to WPTV.com.

Vinsky, 47, taught special needs students at Crossroads Academy in Belle Glade, Fla., according to the Morning Call. She was a 1987 graduate of Kutztown University.

Vinsky enjoyed going to happy hours and brunch with friends at restaurants around the Palm Beach area and she was recovering from surgery nine weeks ago at the Spine Institute of South Florida, according to her Facebook page.
