Devil's Folly Haunted Barn Says It Will Open Oct. 4

The Devil's Folly Haunted Attraction's website states it will operate next month, beginning on Oct. 4. Salisbury Township officials had stated the barn needed to meet code standards before it could open for business this year.

It appears that ghosts, ghouls and goblins will be out in force this Halloween season at the Devil's Folly Haunted Barn at 3350 Devonshire Road in Salisbury Township.

The Devil's Folly website states that the seasonal attraction will open on Oct. 4 on mostly Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., rain or shine.

That was in doubt earlier this year when the Salisbury Township Building Code Board of Appeals denied owner Domonic Giles waivers on the barn concerning ventilation and fire protection.

Last week, the Salisbury School Board voted to allow Devil's Folly to use the parking lot at the Salisbury Middle School on Oct. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., for the haunted barn's parking.

Giles was supposed to appear again before the Building Code Board of Appeals to show that the barn had proper ventilation and fire protection in order to obtain a season occupancy permit.

A public meeting on the matter never happened, according to the Salisbury Township website, which announces such meetings.

Neither Giles or Salisbury Township officials were immediately available for comment.
