KidsPeace Can Help Families Process School Shooting

Julius Licata, Director of ParentCentral.Net and TeenCentral.Net, is available to speak about the impact of school violence and offer guidance on how to talk to children about the shooting.

The shooting spree that left at least 26 people dead at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school this morning is the latest in a string of violent crimes in public places over the past year.

For those involved in such horrific tragedies, it is difficult to determine where to even begin the process of working through grief to healing. It’s natural for this type of violence to cause anxiety and fear even in people who were not directly affected.

KidsPeace is here to help children, parents and communities process such a senseless crime. Julius Licata, Ph.D., Director of ParentCentral.Net and TeenCentral.Net, is available to speak about the short-and long-term impact of such events, as well as to offer guidance on how to talk to children about the shooting and help them process what occurred.
