We're Fallin' for Children's Programs @ The Allentown Public Library

The Allentown Public Library offers a variety of programs for children of all ages.

Children’s programs are in full swing at the Allentown Public Library!

For the youngest children, we offer our regular Storytime programs.  Babies from birth through age 2 may attend our Lapsit Storytime.  Held on Thursday mornings at 10:00 AM, this program (for children and their caregiver) includes simple books, fingerplays, rhymes, music and baby sign language.  Two-year-olds (and their caregiver) have a great time in our Time for Twos program.  The children and adults explore stories, rhymes, music and movement activities together.  Time for Twos meets Wednesdays at 6:00 PM or Fridays at 10:15 AM.  Our Preschool Storytime program is for children ages 3 -5 who have not yet started kindergarten.  This program is for children only, and we have a great time listening to stories, singing songs, and using our imaginations!  Preschool Storytime meets Wednesdays at either 10:00 AM or 6:45 PM, or Thursday afternoons at 2:00 PM.  All of the above programs require registration.

New this Fall is our series of Drop-In Bedtime Stories!  Sessions meet at 6:30 PM on Monday, October 8, October 29, and November 12.  No registration is required for these programs – just stop in the library for some interactive Bedtime Stories.  Kids are welcome to wear their pajamas for the program!

Children in grades K-3 have their very own Book Bunch at the Allentown Public Library, which meets on Thursdays at 6:30 PM.  These interactive storytimes include books, songs and a craft.  Registration is required for the Book Bunch.

We didn’t forget the older children!  Kids in grades 4-7 are able to participate in our Young Readers’ Book Discussion Club.  The next meeting of the club will be Saturday, November 3rd at 2:30 PM.  Registration is required.  Copies of the book are available for club members to borrow, read and use during the book discussion.  Best part of the Young Readers’ Book Discussion Club?  FREE pizza at the meeting!
