Burned Body Found Thursday Was 20- to 40-Year-Old Woman

Police are investigating a body found burned at the Unami Gun Club in Salisbury Township.

A body found burning near Unami Fish and Game Club off Chestnut Hill Road in Salisbury Township Thursday morning was a white or light-skinned Hispanic woman age 20 to 40, according to the Lehigh County coroner.

An autopsy will be performed Friday to determine the exact cause of death.

The woman's identity will be revealed once investigators know for sure who she was and notify her next of kin.

Emergency responders were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m. when a resident driving on Chestnut Hill Road saw something burning near the Unami Fish and Game Club in Salisbury Township not far from the Emmaus border.

Deputy Coroner Ray Anthony pronounced the woman dead at the scene at 10:20 a.m.

Unami is a private shooting and social club, according to its website. The property includes pistol, rifle and archery ranges and a clubhouse with a bar and banquet room.

Neighbor Tim Bollinger told Patch he left his home around 7:45 a.m. to get an oil change and all was quiet. When he came home about two hours later, he saw flashing lights from police cars and emergency vehicles. Bollinger thought there had been a car accident, which is not uncommon on the road.

This is the second time this year a body was found in the township. In July, the body of Kimberly Cardona of Whitehall was discovered by a man walking his dog. Cardona's killer is accused of cutting her neck and dousing her body with bleach.

In 2011, a hunter found skeletal remains in the township. The remains were later identified as a Doylestown man.

Also in Lehigh County, police are still searching for the killer of a Brooklyn man whose burned body was found shortly after Halloween 2011 in South Whitehall Township.

We've corrected our report, Tracie, thank you. The WFMZ report said Wednesday which led to some confusion.

Sounds like we need more police in the township, instead of an extension to a walking path in the park.

The proper name of the club is Unami Fish & Game Protective Assoc. Inc., or as the sign says Unami Fish & Game, Inc. Did you change the name of the club in the headline just to get reader's attention with the word "gun"? Yes, they have gun ranges there, but that has absolutely nothing to do with this story.

It is a gun club, have you never heard of rod and gun clubs? Don't think the name of the place has anything to do with the story, the main point of the story is that there are sick people out there and even grown people are not safe anymore. It is sad we are coming to a point we cannot even protect ourselves let alone our children. Hopefully they find the person that did this and hang him and burn him also.

Everybody says "legalize it and tax it." That's just an oxymoron = once it is legal = youRead More can grow it in your back yard for free. Yes, and the person next to you drinking cannabis tea, does not effect you. The person who justRead More vaporized, does not effect you. Those hash oil tablets I just ate, won't effect you. Non-smoking means non-smoking - if there is someone smoking next to you, get out of the smoking section. You are right, marijuana is not like alcohol. If I were sitting next to you while I was high, and you annoyed the piss out of me by complaining about smokers in place that obviously allows smoking, I would just laugh it off or move away. I could smoke all night, and my mood would not change. If I were to drink, and keep drinking, eventually I would get confrontational, and we would be fighting. So, the guy next to you drinking can indeed effect you.

Tea Party groups are all very separate with separate missions. I understand the ones targeted wereRead More seeking the tax free charitable status because their stated mission is to educate about issues. They are not an actual "political" party.
