Shortly after the driver of a minivan two vehicles collided across the street in the 3200 block of W. Emmaus Avenue, injuring one of the drivers.

Cindy Kehm of Emmaus was injured when the Ford SUV she was driving was struck from behind by a Jeep, according to her son Rob Kehm. She was taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, according to police.

Salisbury Township Police officer Mike Palansky said Kehm was at a stop on W. Emmaus Avenue and about to turn left onto Second Avenue, when the driver of the Jeep, who tried to stop, struck her from behind.

Rob Kehm said his mother's accident occurred as she was returning to their landscaping business after purchasing nails from a hardware store to help brace their walls.

Western Salisbury firefighters, police and ambulance workers were already present because of the crash that had occurred about 30 minutes earlier at

Rob Kehm, who works at Kehm's Landscaping below Bird Mania, said he heard a loud bang. Bird Mania owner Debbie Lentz told him a car had crashed through the front of her building.

"I came up to see what was going on and if I could help," he said.
