Baby Boy's Death Under Police Investigation

A baby is dead and his father is in jail as police investigate what happened to the 15-month-old boy.

Allentown police are investigating the case of an infant pronounced dead early Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital in Allentown, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

Cordero James, of 718 N. 15th Street, was 15 months old.

The infant's father, Michael James, 36, has been jailed on multiple charges and was allegedly high on marijuana and fell asleep while he was supposed to be caring for the boy, according to a WFMZ report.

Authorities have not yet specified the boy's manner and cause of death.

Last year, an Allentown mother was charged in the beating death of her 5-year-old boy.
