Lehigh Avenue Traffic Speeds Under Scrutiny

Salisbury Township Police will perform a speed and traffic study on Lehigh Avenue at the request of residents.

Salisbury Township Police will perform a traffic study on Lehigh Ave., after two township residents presented commissioners with a petition.

Colby Jackson and Rita Bittner, both Lehigh Avenue residents, presented commissioners with a 45 signature petition requesting the township install speed bumps to control traffic speed on the road.

Jackson told commissioners that he and neighbors have witnessed people driving at excessive speeds over the limit and are concerned for the safety of the residents near Laubach Park.

Salisbury Police Chief Allen Stiles said the police department would perform a speed and traffic survey on that street.

Last week, as a result of a speed and traffic study on Flexer Ave., police equipped with radar guns issued 30 traffic tickets, Stiles said.
