Man Faces DUI Charge in School Bus Crash

A 27-year-old man faces charges after his carrying students from Lehigh Valley Christian Academy on March 1 in the 200 block of S. Cedar Crest Boulevard, near .

Scott Michael Haas, who was driving a white Audi A4 that was northbound on Cedar Crest Boulevard, has been charged with driving under the influence, a misdemeanor offense, and not driving on the right side of the road, a summary offense, according to a report on lehighvalleylive.com.

Haas, of 5211 Blue Sky Drive, Orefield, had the prescription drugs methadone and lorazepam in his system at the time of the crash, according to the report.

, which was traveling south on Cedar Crest Boulevard, was carrying four students to Lehigh Valley Christian Academy in Salisbury Township. It toppled to its side in the crash.

Haas, the bus driver and the students had been taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. No one was seriously injured.

A preliminary hearing for Haas is set for May 9.
