Man Pleads Guilty to Beating Teen Girls at the Promenade

Jeremy Silvius pleaded to assault in the August 2012 attach that left two teen girls injured.

An 18-year-old Coopersburg man pleaded guilty Friday to assaulting two teenage sisters at The Promenade Shops in Upper Saucon Township in August, according to online court records.

Jeremy Silvius was sentenced to timed served to 18 months and placed on immediate parole by Lehigh County Judge James Anthony, who also ordered Silvius to pay $2,354 in costs and restitution, the records say.

A criminal complaint says police responded to a fight-in-progess call around 6:45pm Aug. 13, a Monday, and looked for a large man – about 6-feet-3 and 260 pounds – wearing a Darth Vader T-shirt.

Police found the man, later identified as Silvius, and found the two sisters, ages 14 and 16, inside the White Orchid Thai Restaurant.

The 16-year-old told police Silvius punched her in the chest and knocked her to the ground. Police noted a bleeding abrasion on her elbow as well as redness on her chest.

When questioned, the 14-year-old told police she tried to help her sister when Silvius grabbed her by the hair and smashed her head into a pole several times.

The 14-year-old told police that Silvius "remained in control [of her] by her hair, taking her to the ground and punching her several times with a closed fist." Silvius then threw the younger girl into a car and ran away. Police noted several lumps on the 14-year-old's head and welting on her face.

When questioned at the Upper Saucon police station, Silvius admitted to striking the sisters "two or three times."

Silvius pleaded guilty to two counts of  simple assault. One count of aggravated assault and two counts of harassment were dropped, the online records say..
