One Injured in Salisbury School Bus Accident

One person was injured when a Paragon Transportation school bus was struck after it cut off a car traveling west on E. Emmaus Avenue, according to Salisbury Township police.

One person was injured when a school bus traveling east on E. Emmaus Avenue was hit from behind by a car early Tuesday, according to Salisbury Township Police.

The accident occurred at 7:15 a.m. when the driver of the Paragon Transportation school bus, Stephen Bertalan, 71, of Allentown, turned left onto Hausman Avenue, cutting off a car driven by Vamuley Kamara, 23, of Philadelphia, who was traveling west on Emmaus Avenue, according to Officer Bryan Losagio.

Kamara suffered moderate injuries when his car struck the rear of the bus, Losagio said. He was taken by ambulance to be treated at St. Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill, Losagio said.

The bus was carrying one student, who was uninjured.

Charges are pending against Bertalan, Losagio said.
