Salisbury Police Blotter: Bat, Burned Toast and a Sick Groundhog

OMG! Weird and unusual items reported in the Salisbury Township Police Department log.

The following police blotter items were reported to the Salisbury Township Police Department.

Eek! There's a Bat! A woman called police twice on May 26 to report a bat was flying around her living room in 700 block of E. Juniata Street, Salisbury Township Police said. Police advised her to "hit it with a broom or other object," the report said.

Hope it Wasn't Punxsutawny Phil. A caller reported to Salisbury police on May 27 there was a "sick groundhog" at the entrance to the Lehigh County Community Corrections Center, 1600 Riverside Drive. A police officer used a snare to capture the animal and then "put it down" in a wooded area, the report said.

Awww. A resident in the 1500 block of Paxford Road reported on May 23 there was a large, fluffy dog on his porch, police said. "Upon arrival it was not there," police reported.

Was it Whole Wheat or White? The Salisbury Township Police and Western Salisbury Fire Department rushed to a home in the 2000 block of Lehigh Parkway North when an automatic fire alarm sounded on May 23. When they arrived, an elderly resident said there was no fire, just burned toast.
