Police: Car Crosses Center Line, Causes Cedar Crest Blvd. Crash

Dec. 20 crash was just south of Briarwood Lane; one person taken to hospital, police say.

A northbound car on Cedar Crest Boulevard in Salisbury Township crossed the center line and crashed into a southbound car last Friday morning, police say.

A state police fax says the driver of the northbound car, Molly G. Utsick, 33, of Jim Thorpe was "not injured" but nonetheless was taken by Macungie EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

The other driver, Philip C. Trinkle, 51, of Allentown was not hurt. The crash occurred at 8:23am Dec. 20 on Cedar Crest just south of Briarwood Lane, the fax says.

The fax says Utsick's 2009 Subaru Impreza also hit an "adopt-a-highway" sign on the road shoulder and came to rest in the shoulder's "deep snow."

Trinkle was driving a 2007 Acura TL, the fax says.

Utsick was cited for violating the traffic law for "roadways laned for traffic," the fax says.
