Police: Speed Likely Not a Factor in Crash

State police are still investigating why a Nazareth driver careened into a bus stop on Race Street near Lehigh Valley International Airport Monday afternoon, killing two men.

Caitlyn Clark, 26, was driving on Race Street in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, near LVIA at about 3:25 p.m. when her SUV veered off the road and hit a utility pole before crashing into the bus stop where several people were waiting, according to state police at Bethlehem.

Elias Tabarani, 51, of Allentown died at the scene and Angel Bosch, 28, of Easton died later at the hospital.

Two other Allentown men were injured -- Angel Guerrido-Lopez, 38, was reportedly in fair condition and Lawrence Oyster, 37,  was in critical condition, according to the Morning Call. The men had just finished their shift at Cast-Pac, a nearby factory.

Sgt. Robert Tyler told The Call that the accident reconstruction was completed Monday and speed does not appear to be a factor in the accident. He said investigators are trying to determine if the SUV had any mechnical problems. Tyler declined to comment on whether Clark might have been distracted. 

According to court records, Clark was cited for speeding in Alburtis on May 8. The case is "inactive" because she did not enter a plea.
