Police Standoff: Bank Robbery Suspect Photo Released

Police release photo of suspect in a bank robbery that ended with a local SWAT team and police officers surrounding a home.

A bank robber is still at large after a Thursday night robbery, and police are asking for your help.

The robbery took place around 8:45pm at the TD Bank in Quakertown. Police say that a man, described as a white male with a fake blond beard wearing a skullcap and a shirt with a Panthers logo, held up the bank with a handgun. He fled north in a dark-colored Cadillac.

"The officer who saw the vehicle saw him exit the car at which point he called for the man to stop," said Quakertown Det. Lt. Donald Bender.

Police say the man ignored the order and headed for a side entrance to the property. They could not confirm if he went inside. After several tense hours which included a SWAT team and several sweeps of the area, police could not find the suspect in the home or in nearby areas. Bender says that officials can't rule out the man could still be in the area.

Bender said that the Cadillac was impounded, and a search warrant was issued. While he wouldn't elaborate, Bender said that several items recovered from the car were most likely used in the robber. "I'm 99 percent sure that this is the vehicle used in the robbery."

The property is listed as a rental property owned by a management company. Bender says attempts to contact the company have been unsuccessful.
