Former Athlete Charged with Felony Fraud, Allegedly Stole from Salisbury Court

A man arrested for allegedly cashing with routing number is facing felony charges.

According to a criminal complaint, arrested and charged Kevin Christopher Osorto, 21, with cashing two fake checks worth about $661 using the bank routing number from District Judge Michael J. Pochron's office in Salisbury Township.

Records show that a Kevin Osorto with the same date of birth, height and weight as the man charged graduated from William Allen High School in 2009. Osorto is identified as a football kicker and soccer player for the Allen High Canaries.

Osorto was arraigned Monday in court in Coopersburg on two felony counts of forgery, two counts of theft by deception, two counts of receiving stolen property and two counts of writing bad checks, according to the complaint.

Osorto was sent to Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 6.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on June 25 Osorto cashed two checks of $374.80 and $285.93 that were made out to him at Walmarts in Lower Macungie and Whitehall. Osorto used his driver's license for identification. The account written on the checks said they were from Keystone Pizza Partners LLC, but used the bank routing number of Magisterial District Court 31-0-08, the court of District Judge Michael J. Pochron, which serves Salisbury Township and Fountain Hill.
