Salisbury Police Dog Sniffs Out Suspect in Woods

Fonzie, the 's K9 officer, helped officers find a man hiding in the woods who was suspected of ramming an Emmaus police car.

On Dec. 5, Salisbury police said they got a call for reinforcement to the 400 block of Eagle Road, Emmaus, after a man, identified as Joshua Stevens, 21, of 410 Eagle Road, ran into a nearby woods after a disturbance and allegedly rammed the police car.

Salisbury Police Officer Jason Laky, who handles , offered his service. Police from several departments secured the perimeter of the wooded area. After Fonzie picked up a scent, he went into the woods. Police scanned the area with flashlights and found Stevens trying to conceal himself, police said. Stevens was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital for an evaluation, police said.
