Stolen I-Beam Statues Recovered, Police Say

An Allentown man has been charged with receiving stolen property, Salisbury Township police said.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with receiving two I-beam statues stolen April 2 from a home in the 700 block of Weil Street in Salisbury Township, police said.

John Lee Dawson Jr., whose last known address was in Allentown, faces a charge of receiving stolen property.

According to police, two chrome-plated I-beam statues were stolen from a Weil Street home around 6:30 p.m. on April 2. Dawson was arrested and charged in connection with the case early on April 3.

Salisbury Township police Det. Kevin Kress said police are investigating whether the case is connected to a recent wave of burglaries in the township. In those burglaries, money, jewelry and other items were taken. 

Dawson was arraigned before District Judge David Howells, who set bail at $2,500.
