confirmed Friday that a by an emergency room patient yesterday was not hazardous.
Salisbury Police Det. Kevin Kress said the FBI tested the substance, described as a white powder, but did not release information on what it was. Investigators said it was not the result of a terrorist attack, he said.
A Berks County woman found the substance in her mailbox Thursday and accidentally rubbed some of it on her face, Kress said. She suffered a skin irritation and drove towith the substance in the trunk of her car, he said.
Kress said the substance may have been fire extinguisher foam sprayed into the mailbox.

She was seen by doctors as a precautionary measure. The emergency room closed for four hours and a haz-mat team, Salisbury police, Western Salisbury Fire Department and Allentown Fire Department were called to the hospital to investigate the substance, which was in the woman's car.
"Reading State Police will be investigating the matter further since the incident originated in that area," Kress said.
