Testimony: Failed Concert Deal led to Robbery, Shooting
A dramatic April 2011 home invasion case at the South Whitehall/Salisbury border is headed to Lehigh County Court, following testimony at a preliminary hearing Thursday.
A failed hip-hop concert promotion led to a home invasion and shooting on South Drive in South Whitehall, near the Salisbury Township border in April 2011, according to a report in The Morning Call.
Terrance Jamal Brown, who is charged in the case, testified at Mikael R. Coles' preliminary hearing on Thursday that Coles went to the home on South Drive to get back the $20,000 he had put up for a hip-hop concert in Philadelphia.
The artist didn't show, and, according to the report, Brown testified that Coles wanted to get his money back from concert promoter Jermaine Herod, who lived on South Drive.

District Judge Robert C. Halal sent the charges against Coles, 25, of Philadelphia, to Lehigh County Court, according to online records.

Coles is charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, robbery, burglary, and conspiracy charges of aggravated assault, burglary and robbery.
Brown, 24, also of Philadelphia, waived his preliminary hearing Thursday, according to online records. He is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, recklessly endangering and criminal conspiracy.
Two other suspects have been named in the case in court documents.
