Three Injured in I-78 Accident in Salisbury

Three people, including a man standing by the side of the road, were injured in a four-vehicle accident Wednesday on Interstate 78.

involving four vehicles Wednesday morning on Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township sent four people to the hospital with injuries, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville. and . assisted at the accident scene.

The accident occurred at about 10:15 a.m. when a car driven by Peter A. Henninger, 48, of Coopersburg, traveling west on I-78 struck a car driven by Margaret Harrison, 27, of Emmaus, police said. Henninger was following too closely and failed to react when Harrison's vehicle slowed down because of traffic ahead, police said.

Traffic had slowed because a pedestrian, Ronald Dobisesky Jr. 46, of Leesport, was standing next to a stopped car on the side of the road, speaking to its driver, Barry L. Fegley, 67, of Bethlehem, police said.

Dobisesky and Fegley were both injured when Henninger's car stuck them, police said. Harrison's car, after being struck by Henninger's car, collided with a car driven by Cody A. Moyer, 19, of Allentown, and traveled across all three lanes before hitting a concrete barrier in the center median, police said.
