Truck Crash, Fire Shutters I-78

The highway had reopened by mid-afternoon, with lane restrictions in place.

I-78 East was shuttered for several hours Wednesday morning after two tractor trailers crashed and caught fire, according to multiple reports.

The crash occurred just after 11 a.m. near the Summit Lane Interchange in Salisbury Township, WFMZ reported. Smoke was visible for several miles, WFMZ said.

The highway had reopened by mid-afternoon, with lane restrictions in place, The Express-Times reported. The ongoing lane restrictions may be because of a fuel spill, the Express-Times said.

WFMZ reported that three people were injured in the crash and ensuing fire.
